Cleveland recalled Asdrubal Cabrera from AAA Buffalo, where they sent him to work on his batting, which he’s certainly done (.326/.375/.475 in 141 ABs). But he played mostly shortstop for Buffalo, which is interesting, since Jhonny Peralta is allegedly the  now and future Indians shortstop.

sh Barfield, who sprained his middle finger one day after being called up to replace former Mariner Asdrubal Cabrera. The Indians have been slipping steadily behind the ChiSox in the AL Central and, with Chicago finally remembering how to hit, they will be hard-pressed to stay in the race.

Much exuberant ink has been spilled over Asdrubal Cabrera's unassisted triple play in yesterday's Indians-Blue Jays game, only the fourteenth in MLB history. That rarity makes it memorable, but I'm not sure there's a ton of athleticism involved--the Unassisted Triple Play (or UTP for short) is more luck of circumstance than anything.
