The days of Shaun Alexander bull dozing his way through defensive linemen are far behind these flightless hawks. With a rushing attack lead by Julius Jones and Maurice Morris it is tough to use the run to set up the pass. With a receiving core led by recent new comers, who have no chemistry with Matt Hasselbeck it will be tough to use the pass in any situation. The Hawks may not have been the favorite in the division with their top receivers and now they're without their top three.

If the Hawks will not repeat as division champions, who will step into the void? The St. Louis Rams are a lock for the first pick in the draft and continue to give their opponents chances to obliterate offensive records. The 49ers may contend, but I really don't see JT O' Sullivan leading his team to a division title.

We're three weeks in and the Bills are undefeated the Colts and Jags are 1-2, Gus Ferrotte is a undefeated quarterback and Matt Cassel is leading the Patriots. With this intruiging start to the NFL season many fans may be wondering if their team can keep up the good play, or if their team will right the ship and make it to the post season.

Jaguars: No need to worry for the Jags a tough loss at the beginning of the season to the Titans, but looks like they are back on track or atleast gained confidence with a great win over the Colts this past week. The Jags face the Texans next week, which should put the Jags at 2-2.

Titans: If you said the Titans would start the season 3-0 with Vince Young out I would have torn you to pieces. Here we are, however, and the Titans sit atop the division with a win over the Jags in week one. Titans fans should be worried for the future though, as their other two wins came against the Bengals (0-3), and  the Texans (0-2). I look for the Titans to lose their lead during weeks 8-12 dealing with Young coming back and whether or not he should play. Oh and they also face the Colts, Packers, Bears, Jags, and Jets.

If you have watched Spots Center in the past couple of weeks it has probably done nothing but bore you with the Brett Favre saga. There is, however, another important story taking place in good ol' Wisconsin. Newly acquired CC Sabathia has been absolutely dominating on the mound for the Brewers.

Since joining the Brewers Sabathia is 7-0 with an era of 1.77. He has pitched four complete games and is turning the Brewers into a National Legue contender. Sabathia should atleast be in the running for the Cy Young Award. Brandon Webb will likely get it if the Diamondbacks could manage to make the playoffs in the feeble NL West. Tim Lincecum may also get it with his high strikeout total and low era.

Sabathia is the only one of these pitchers that has truly made a difference for the team he is pitching for. Granted Carlos Zambrano is the Cubs ace and seeing as their the best team in the NL right now he will most likely wind up with the Cy Young, but look out for the Brewers and lookout for Sabathia to win the award on only half a season.

This past weekend in an effort to reverse their current loosing streak the Chicago White Sox invited two guests into their locker room. Not inspirational speakers, and not anyone worth more than about $19.95. These players brought in two blow up dolls.

These dolls were placed in the middle of a cricle of bats in an effort to remove the bad 'mojo'. This seems desperate, but with a team who was about three losses away from batting one of these dolls in the seven spot it might have been the laid back mind relaxing experience these players needed.

Obviously these dolls were not used in a sexual way. Granted athletes are known for their objectifying of women, just look at the mess Roger Clemens is in right now, but so are corporation heads, former presidents, and the mayor of New York. Why are people out raged to hear this, when the people who are more prominent than baseball players are doing much worse, with

Out all the first round matchups I find it very suprising that the Atlanta Hawks took the Boston Celtics into game seven. I was suprised the Hawks made the playoffs in the first place. Was this a collapse by the juggernaut Celts or did the young Hawks play some of the best basketball of their life?

I tend to lean towards a collapse. Eighty two games is enough for a team to prove itself and the Celtics showed to be the best team in the east, while the Hawks displayed average at best basketball. The playoff atmosphere got to the Celtics and they started to gaze into the future while Joe Johnson was draining basket after basket and giving Boston a run for their money.

If the Celtics don't step it up in this next series they will not last as long. They were barely able to contain Joe Johnson and the not so lethal Hawks lineup, what will they do to contain LeBron James? The overall lack of defense is the primary reason that LeBron was able to take the Cavs into the NBA Finals. And who stopped them? The defensive minded Spurs.

To kick off the 2008 NBA postseason in dramatic fashion the Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers gave fans every element to a great game. LeBron James displayed his dominance. There was trash talk building up. A borderline fight to end the first half. Everything a fan could ask for.

The game went down to the wire and was eventually finished when LeBron James drove to the basket on two straight posessions finishing a contested lay up. This put the Cavs up by four and the Wizards were unable to come back. LeBron James again built up his post season resume with a strong performance. James had a game high 32 points after starting the game 0-4 from the field.

For the Wizards Gilbert Arenas showed signs of the old Agent Zero as he scored 24 on limited time. Atawn Jamison also had a solid game for the Wizards with 23 points and a staggering 18 rebounds. Although the Wizards lost there were still plenty of good signs.

It is no secret that there are a number of teams needing a quarterback in this years draft. Among the top eight selections five teams are unsure of their quarterback situation heading into next season. Top ranked quarterback Matt Ryan of Boston College could go to any of these five teams.

Ever since Dan Marino hung up his shoulder pads the Miami Dolphins have been searching for somebody to fill the void. Although Miami looks to be leaning towards one of the Long's the Dolphins may trade down and take Ryan. If Miami does not get their quarterback in the first round look for them to take Brian Brohm of Lousiville to kick off the second round.

Sitting at number three the Atlanta Falcons are also pondering their options at quarterback. They have Joey Harrington and Byron Leftwich, who both had sub par seasons. Atlanta could use a Matt Ryan, but they may look later in the draft at either Brohm or Chad Henne out of Michigan.

The Detroit Tigers are looking like the Tigers of 2003, and not like the Tigers expected to be a playoff team. They currently sit at 0-7 and are in a deep hole that keeps getting deeper. Obviously through seven games it is impossible to tell who will and who won't make the playoffs, but an 0-7 start is clearly not the way a playoff caliber team should start.

Everything is going wrong for the Tigers, who after pulling off a trade with Florida in the offseason were looking to be the AL Central favorite. The Offense is lacking, the pitching has been subpar, and the other teams are capitalizing.

You would think that a team with such high expectations, even if they are slumping, would be able to pull out one win against the Royals. Someone needs to step up for the Tigers and get them in the win column fast, before the season is lost. Just like the first strike is the most important pitch, the first win is the most important win.

Four games into the season and the Mariners have already suffered an injury that will likely be a lingering injury throughout the season. Closer JJ Putz, with an injury to his ribcage is out for atleast 15 days and it will likely be longer until he his back to the dominant closer we saw last season.

A good sign is the Mariners starting pitching. Other than Jarrod Washburn, the Mariners starters all had quality starts. The Mariners front three allowed only two earned runs in a combined 19 innings. What was a pre-season weakness now looks to be a strength and an intrical part to the Mariners success.

Addressing bullpen help the most promising ptichers have been Sean Green, Mark Lowe, and Miguel Batista, who go his first save since 2005 this season. Brandon Morrow will likely be called up as soon as he can be. With Morrow, Green, and Lowe in the pen the Mariners should be able to lessen the effect of loosing Putz.

In his second attempt at mastering the art of the english language retired bash brother Jose Canseco published a nother book. A book that points the finger at current Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez, who is the most likely candidate to break Bonds' homerun record.

Canseco, however, has no background to support his claim and says that the time is not right to release the information he has. When is the time right Jose? I suppose that after A-Rod breaks the record you will come in and rain of his parade with a 'he said she said' case "proving" that he was on steroids.

This is just another pathetic attempt by Canseco to get attention. My advice to Canseco, if you have information and you want anyone to take you seriously release it. Instead of waiting until the market is perfect for you to release a third novel. Until I see some credible sources A-Rod remains the best player in baseball and a clean poster boy for the sport. Canseco can take his finger pointing back to the playgroud, because he can't handle the big boys.
