The NBA reviewed tapes from the Cleveland Cavs vs. New York Knicks game the other night and they felt the need to go the extra effort to take one rebound away from Lebron James. Taking this rebound away from him turned hit historic triple double night with 52 points into a pedestrian double double.
The first point I want to make is that hours after the game nobody really cares, so why take this rebound away? Was it really crucial enough to have to review the film?
This is the first time I have ever seen something like this. Will this continue? Do we really need to review every game to down to the rebounding stats? If this is the case shouldn'e we be reviewing all games and making sure that the rebounding leaders, assist leaders, block leaders, and steal leaders are truly the leaders.
This is just absolutely ridiculous. Lebron James was credited with a questionable rebound. So what? Let it go he is a good enough player that he deserves this anyway. It's not a big deal if he doesn't get credited with the board. He still has a great night, but he did get credit for it and then somebody how to go and take that away. Sounds like somebody is a Lebron hater.
Also, if the NBA can review tape to take away a great feat, why couldn't the MLB review a tape last year to give a great pitcher the benefit.
Last season CC Sabathia of the Milwaukee Brewers threw a one hitter against the Pirates. The one hit was a questionable dribbler which Sabathia bobbled. Many believe this should have been charged as an error for Sabathia and he should have finished with a no-hitter, an even more prestigous accomplishment than a triple double.
Would taking this "hit" away from the Pirate affected anybody? No. Sure his batting average might have lowered one half of a point, but it would have added a great historic accomplishment for Sabathia. If they can review homeruns, why couldn't they review the tape on this questionable hit that had no affect on the game?
Clearly league officials in both leagues have performed to degrate their sports, which is absolutely ridiculous. They took a rebound away that was given to Lebron by the opposing score keeper. And they would not review a hit given to the pirates by their scorekeeper. Baffling!
