NFL Contenders and Pretenders

We're three weeks in and the Bills are undefeated the Colts and Jags are 1-2, Gus Ferrotte is a undefeated quarterback and Matt Cassel is leading the Patriots. With this intruiging start to the NFL season many fans may be wondering if their team can keep up the good play, or if their team will right the ship and make it to the post season.

Jaguars: No need to worry for the Jags a tough loss at the beginning of the season to the Titans, but looks like they are back on track or atleast gained confidence with a great win over the Colts this past week. The Jags face the Texans next week, which should put the Jags at 2-2.

Titans: If you said the Titans would start the season 3-0 with Vince Young out I would have torn you to pieces. Here we are, however, and the Titans sit atop the division with a win over the Jags in week one. Titans fans should be worried for the future though, as their other two wins came against the Bengals (0-3), and  the Texans (0-2). I look for the Titans to lose their lead during weeks 8-12 dealing with Young coming back and whether or not he should play. Oh and they also face the Colts, Packers, Bears, Jags, and Jets.

Colts: Staying within the division, I don't know who the Colts are at this point in the season. They don't seem to be the same Colts team with the explosive offense. Their running game has been below average and Peyton Manning has been average at best. Marvin Harrison is aging and not a true go to receiver. We'll have to see if the Colts can turn it around or if they are an aging franchise.

Vikings: With the best running game in the league and the best Defensive line in the league you should be better than 1-2. Losses against the Packers and Colts, however, are not devastating losses. The Colts game in week 2 could have gone either way. I look for the Vikings, who have no really tough stretches in their schedule to finish in the wild card spot or possibly challenge the Packers for the division.

Jets: Tom Brady went down in week one making Brett Favre the best quarterback in the division, but wait Trent Edwards has led his team to a 3-0 start, while Favre remains at 1-2. I think that Favre needs more time with the offense and I believe the Bills will show their mediocrity.

Rams, Lions and Chiefs: Just be glad I mentioned you guys, but I think you may want to consider playing in Canada.

NFC South is up for grabs: The Bucs look solid as usual. The Falcons have a couple of easy wins and no real tests so we will find out about them, and the Panthers are looking good as well. Also the Saints will contend in this division it will be a couple more weeks before this division has an outlook.

NFC East: Clearly the best division in football. The Redskins are better than expected. The Cowboys look like the best team in the NFL and the Giants are in the top few. The Eagles have only lost to the Cowboys and the Skins have only lost to the Giants, it will be tough to call who doesn't make the playoffs out of this division.

Right Now my playoff picks look like this:

NFC EAST:    Dalls Cowboys

NFC WEST:   Arizona Cardinals

NFC NORTH:  Minnesota Vikings

NFC SOUTH: Carolina Panthers

WILDCARD: New York Giants, Philidelphia Eagles

AFC EAST:    Buffalo Bills

AFC WEST:   Denver Broncos

AFC NORTH: Baltimore Ravens

AFC SOUTH: Jacksonville Jaguars

WILDCARD: Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets

WILDCARD:
